Welcome to Guro Marc Halleck’s Panantukan – Silat Combatives. Panantukan is the empty-hand
sub-system in the Inosanto – Lacoste Kali system. Panantukan is Filipino boxing and encompasses
basic boxing techniques such as jab, cross, hook, and uppercut, and also utilizes head butts,
finger jabs, elbow strikes, knees, shoulder butts, and low line kicking.
Silat comes from south-east Asia. Silat is the term for certain combat arts from Indonesia and the Philippines. Traditional Silat is a complete martial art unto itself and takes years to master. It is street effective, and encompasses all ranges of fighting including, punching, kicking, ground fighting, and weapons. For this program we are going to focus on those Silat arts that emphasize sweeping and takedowns with strikes. I would like to make it clear I have not invented or added anything new to these arts. All techniques have been taught to me in one form or another by my instructors, Guro Dan Inosanto,Guro Ron Balicki, and Guro Rick Faye. They have been very generous and willing to share their knowledge with me and now I am happy to share it with you. What makes Panantukan – Silat Combatives unique is it’s no-nonsense approach to these arts. I have taken what I believe are the core techniques and organized it into an easy to learn program that can benefit the novice as well as the advanced practitioner. This program will compliment any style and will fit to any body type. I hope you enjoy the program and help to spread the art of panantukan and silat. |
